Responsibilities
As a research assistant for this project I am mainly involved in collecting data and reviewing materials. For the in-lab study I run participants through the necessary items to ensure accurate data collection, while the online experiment is still in the development phase. To assist in this aspect I review materials and suggest any necessary corrections.
Research Focus
This research experiment is concerned with the way that the mind and brain are affected by bilingual language use, in particular codeswitching. In the case of this study, sentences in Spanish are heard, some of which contain a mix of English as well, while participants do a simple reaction test to measure their ability to inhibit irrelevant information.
