I initially fell in love with linguistics through the North American Computational Linguistics Open (NACLO). I was enthralled by the patterns and rules central to language, as well as the unique aspects individuals brought to communication. I discovered how these communication systems could be disordered following cognitive events and decided to pursue a career in speech language pathology, with a goal of providing clinical care while continuing my research interests.
